Deborah Will’s Kent Stateis an astonishing reckoning with the events of May 4, 1970, known as “The Kent State Massacre.” Told in many voices, this verse novel touches on the very human truth of what happened and shows that after every tragedy, we must find a call to action.
“I read this book in one sitting,” says Bald Mountain Artistic Director Ethan Bowen. “And I knew right away it needed to be performed. If the reading is successful we are hoping to option the book to create a bigger performance.”
Bald Mountain Theater is very glad to be given permission by Deborah Wills to read this work. The company of “There Once Was … 21” plus some added guests will bring the script to life.
