Tales of Women
Bald Mountain Theater presents Tales of Women
Thursday & Friday, August 26-27 at 7:30pm
Saturday, July 28 at 2:00pm
Bald Mountain Theater is thrilled to announce Tales of Women on August 26-28 at Spice Studio in Rochester, Vermont. This evening of short stories, poetry, dance, and song will be entirely written, directed, and performed by women. There will be classic stories and poems from literary greats such as Dorothy Parker, Jamaica Kincaid, and Ursula K. Le Guin; and there will be original works from artists from the local area and as far away as Burlington, New Hampshire, and New York City.
Tales of Women will showcase women creators of different identities, nationalities, and time periods. Featured performers include Justine Calnan-Cavacas, Monica Collins, Valerie Harper, Natsuko Hirano, Leanne Hoppe, Jennifer Kelmar, and Killian White.
“Even in artistic spaces, it is rare to see women in charge of every aspect of production,” says Managing Director Killian White. “We at Bald Mountain Theater wanted to create a show where women are at the helm and the vast amount of artistic accomplishments women have achieved throughout history is celebrated and given the attention it deserves.”
Bald Mountain Theater specializes in bringing short stories, fables, folktales, and novellas to vivid life. Popular seasonal shows include Krampusnacht, our solstice celebration of light and dark; and There Once Was…, where we bring together professional actors, musicians, and designers for a one-week intensive. Bald Mountain aims to produce innovative theater you won’t see anywhere else.
Performances on August 26-27 at 7:30pm and August 28 at 2:00pm.
